Seattle’s 19th Avenue E is a favorited and adored local gem. The tree-lined and covered street into the Stevens neighborhood inspires and charms with welcoming arms. Interlaken Park, a cyclist, walker and urban hiker’s paradise is nearby along with a dozen or so local businesses. One of which offers a slice and sip that is hard to beat when it comes to tasting local: Zeek’s Pizza.
Uniquely Northwest since 1993, the company was created by two local adventurers. That adventure is referenced in the
Zeek’s Pizza menu, literally. The adventurous base pizzas range in ingredients and styles that nod to different corners of the world, inspiring the taste, adventure, and international travel that many of us crave while using local ingredients. You don’t need to stray too far from Washington State for adventure so there are some hometown football pride selections woven in there too.
A large selection of tomato or olive oil base staples are also available and always please the crowd. Have an independent one in the group? The Create Your Own section is no holds barred. I visit this part of the menu frequently. There is even an option to create your own breadsticks. No kidding. Salads help to balance out the indulgence but only a little. They too are amazing.
So much time getting full on pizza and we are just getting to the sip part: the beer selection. This could be its own blog entry in itself. The beer selection is a bit of a local celebrity and it has been written about as many times or more than this Pizza spot’s main ingredient. It’s a celebration of craft drafts and bottled beers from local breweries. Like I said, you don’t have to look far outside of Washington State to find adventure.
If you’re not visiting Zeek’s for pizza and beer, then you’re likely coming for beer and pizza. It just depends on which one you’re craving more. Zeek’s Pizza has it all.
